Hop Butcher For The World
United States · Founded in 2014
Hop Butcher For The World is a Chicago-based brewery founded in 2014, rooted in the spirit of the city itself. The name draws inspiration from the poem Chicago by Carl Sandburg, in which he celebrates the city's raw energy and working-class character. With locations including Bedford Park on the southwest side of Chicago, the brewery has grown steadily and opened a Chicago taproom, cementing its place in the local craft beer community. The brewery built its reputation on an enormous rotating portfolio of hop-forward beers, with hazy IPAs at the core of its identity. Hop Butcher was among the first Chicago breweries to fully embrace the hazy IPA style, and that commitment has earned it one of the most dedicated fan bases in the city's craft beer scene. Beyond IPAs, the portfolio extends to flavorful lagers and bold stouts, offering something for a wide range of beer enthusiasts. New releases drop on a weekly basis, keeping the lineup fresh and sought after. Notable beers include Alley Monster, a hazy triple IPA clocking in at 10.5% ABV, and a Frango mint imperial stout. The brewery has also collaborated internationally, including a joint brew with West Coast Brewing Company from Japan. Its bottle shop is a destination in its own right, attracting beer lovers from across the region.
