Cambrew Brewery
Cambodia · Founded in 1965
Cambrew Brewery, also known as Carlsberg Cambodia, is one of Cambodia's largest and most established breweries. Founded in 1965 and located in Sihanoukville, the brewery has deep roots in the Cambodian beer market and has grown into a dominant force in the country's brewing industry. Carlsberg later acquired full ownership by buying out the remaining 25% stake, cementing its position as the controlling entity behind Cambrew's operations. The brewery is best known for producing lager beer, with its portfolio centred around two flagship brands: Angkor Beer and Bayon Beer. Angkor Beer, in particular, has become a well-recognised name in Cambodia, offered in various extensions to cater to a wide range of consumer preferences across the local market. Cambrew also contract brews the Laotian beer Lao, broadening its regional production footprint beyond Cambodia's borders. With a total production capacity of 450,000 hectolitres and an estimated 45% market share in Cambodia, Cambrew Brewery is a commanding presence in Southeast Asian brewing. Its Sihanoukville facility positions the brewery as a key supplier of lager to both domestic consumers and the broader regional market, making it a cornerstone of Cambodian beer culture.
