Brouwerij Solaes is a craft brewery and brewpub located in Ouddorp, on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee in the Dutch province of South Holland. Founded by brewer Jan Willem Kramer, the brewery takes its name from an old Dutch word — 'solaes' — reflecting its roots in local culture and craftsmanship. From the start, Solaes has combined genuine brewing skill with a strong commitment to sustainable entrepreneurship, drawing both on the natural landscape and agricultural heritage of the island. The brewery is known for its locally inspired beers, making use of ingredients sourced directly from Goeree-Overflakkee itself. A standout example is their quince beer, brewed with water from the local dunes and grains — including oats, barley, and buckwheat — grown on nearby farmland. Their portfolio also includes more experimental offerings, such as Cuvée Mandy, an imperial saison aged in Chardonnay barrels, showing a willingness to push boundaries while staying true to regional identity. Brouwerij Solaes was voted the favourite and most distinctive brewery in the Netherlands in the Beerwulf Brewery Election of 2018, a recognition of its authentic character and the warm community it has built around its taproom. Special edition beers such as Reddersgoud further demonstrate the brewery's connection to local history and celebration.
