Brouwerij Dilewyns is a Belgian craft brewery based in Dendermonde, in the East Flemish region of Belgium. Founded by Vincent Dilewyns, a dental technician by trade but a brewer by blood — he descends from a long line of brewing families. What began as a hobby, homebrewing beers not originally intended for sale, gradually evolved into a fully-fledged commercial brewery. The brewery is located at Hoogveld in Dendermonde and has built a reputation both locally and internationally, with its beers having been imported to the United States through the renowned Belgian beer importer Vanberg & DeWulf. Brewery Dilewyns is best known for its Vicaris range of beers, a portfolio of characterful Belgian ales that reflect traditional Flemish brewing values. A defining characteristic of the brewery is its unfiltered approach — no pasteurisation, centrifuge or clarification filters are used, preserving the natural character of each beer. The range includes Belgian-style tripels, as well as innovative hybrid styles such as the Vicaris Tripel-Gueuze, which blends tripel brewing with the lambic-inspired gueuze tradition. More recently, the brewery has expanded its portfolio to include alcohol-free options under the Nano° label, responding to growing consumer demand for non-alcoholic alternatives. Among the brewery's notable releases is the Vicaris Generaal, which was selected as a Rare Beer Club pick in 2012, highlighting the brewery's standing among Belgian beer connoisseurs. Brouwerij Dilewyns continues to be featured in Belgian beer guides and Flemish regional food and drink platforms as a proud representative of East Flemish craft brewing.
