Brouwerij Brixius is a small craft brewery based in Kruibeke, a municipality in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The brewery has its roots in passion rather than scale: according to the brewers themselves, they produce around 80 hectolitres per year, a modest volume that reflects their artisanal approach. The brewery became active in Kruibeke in 2018, where all brewing and bottling takes place within the brewery's own walls. Its first beer, the Femme Fatale, was brewed back in 2008, suggesting the project began as a labour of love before finding its permanent home. Brixius currently offers six different beers, brewed with a clear focus on local ingredients. One notable example is a beer made exclusively with fresh hops grown in the brewery's own garden in Kruibeke, a testament to their commitment to terroir-driven brewing. The range spans various Belgian beer styles, and the brewery takes pride in crafting each beer by hand with genuine passion. Visitors can experience the full Brixius assortment through the brewery's own tasting and sales point, where degustations are available. The brewery is also part of the broader craft beer landscape in Flanders and can be found at select local retailers. For a small producer, Brixius has carved out a dedicated following among fans of authentic, locally brewed Belgian beer.
