Brasserie Val de Sambre is a Belgian brewery located in Thuin, in the province of Hainaut, in the south of Belgium. The brewery operates along the Sambre river valley and has become closely associated with the historic Abbaye d'Aulne, a medieval abbey whose monks brewed beer for centuries. Today, the brewery continues this abbatial brewing tradition under its current trade name, Brasserie Val de Sambre, carrying forward a legacy deeply rooted in Belgian monastic brewing culture. The brewery's portfolio centres around the well-known Abbaye d'Aulne range, a line of top-fermented abbatial beers that pay homage to the region's ecclesiastical heritage. Alongside these abbey-style beers, Brasserie Val de Sambre also produces a variety of other styles, including a Blanche de Charleroi, a seasonal cherry beer that has been on the market since 2006, and La Sambrée. The brewery demonstrates a broad command of Belgian brewing styles, ranging from blonde and white beers to more festive seasonal offerings. With a total annual brewing capacity of 50,000 hectolitres, Brasserie Val de Sambre operates at a meaningful industrial scale while maintaining its connection to the region's brewing traditions. The brewery is based at Rue du Chêne Maillard 8, 6530 Thuin, and can be reached at +32 (0)71 23 24 70.
