Brasserie Du Mont Blanc
France · Founded in 1821
Brasserie du Mont Blanc is a French brewery with roots stretching back to 1821, when the original brewery was established in La Motte-Servolex in the Savoie region of southeastern France, nestled in the heart of the Alps. After ceasing operations in 1966, the brewery was relaunched in 1999, reviving a proud brewing heritage tied to one of Europe's most iconic mountain landscapes. In 2023, the Belgian family brewery Duvel Moortgat acquired Brasserie du Mont Blanc, consolidating it into its international portfolio from October 2023 onwards. The brewery is known for crafting beers inspired by the Alpine surroundings, with a range that includes distinctive styles such as La Blanche, a smooth blonde beer with citrus notes, and La Rousse, an amber-style beer with a rich malt character. These beers reflect both French brewing tradition and a craft-oriented approach that has earned the brewery recognition on the world stage. Since its relaunch in 1999, Brasserie du Mont Blanc has collected five world awards, cementing its reputation as one of France's most acclaimed craft breweries. La Rousse du Mont Blanc, for instance, won a World Beer Award in 2011. The brewery's inclusion in the Duvel Moortgat family underlines its standing as a quality-driven producer within the broader European craft beer scene.
