Brasserie de Bretagne
France · Founded in 1998
Brasserie de Bretagne is a French brewery founded in 1998 in Trégunc, in the heart of the Brittany region. From its earliest days, the brewery has been rooted in Breton culture and tradition, positioning itself as a proud ambassador of artisanal brewing from the far west of France. Over the decades it has grown to become one of the larger independent French breweries, at one point ranking as the seventh largest brewery in France. The brewery crafts its beers with a strong commitment to the Breton brewing tradition, sourcing ingredients from Brittany wherever possible. Its portfolio spans four main beer families: Britt, Ar-Men, Dremmwel, and Sant Erwann. The range covers a wide variety of styles, including a Blanche (white ale), a dark ale brewed with barley and dark wheat, a Triple, a Belgian-style IPA, and a fruit beer. Several beers in the range are organic and gluten-free, reflecting a modern approach to brewing without abandoning regional roots. Brasserie de Bretagne has earned international recognition for its beers. Its Imperial IPA won a Country Winner medal at a global beer competition, as highlighted by 24/7 Wall St. among the best IPAs in the world. The Sant Erwann line in particular is celebrated for bold, characterful beers suited to cold Breton evenings.
