Birra Amarcord
Italy · Founded in 1997
Birra Amarcord is a brewing company founded in 1997 in Rimini, in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. The brewery takes its name from the Romagnol dialect word for I remember, a direct tribute to Federico Fellini, the legendary film director born in Rimini, and to the rich cultural heritage of the Romagna territory. From its very beginnings, Amarcord helped shape the Italian craft beer movement, positioning itself as one of the pioneering breweries in the country. The portfolio of Birra Amarcord is notably broad, designed to suit a wide range of venues and drinking occasions, from daytime settings to contemporary evening experiences. The brewery produces a diverse range of beer styles, including lagers, ales, and specialty beers. Among its standout releases is the A 24 Barrel Aged, a Belgian Strong Ale aged for 24 months in French oak barriques previously used for Sangiovese wine, showcasing the brewery's ambition to push creative boundaries while honouring Italian terroir. The brewery also operates a Tank project, delivering unpasteurised lager beer directly to venues for maximum freshness. Although the registered office is located in Rimini, the brewery itself operates out of Riccione. Birra Amarcord is distributed internationally, including in the United States market, and continues to be recognised as one of Italy's most established and respected craft brewing names.
