The brewery was established as a full-scale production facility and quickly became one of the most modern breweries in the region. Its flagship beer, Balashi Pilsner, was first launched in October 1999 and made an immediate impact on the local market. Uniquely tied to the island it calls home, Balashi is widely regarded as Aruba's national beer and a symbol of local pride. Balashi Brewery is Aruba's first and only high-tech brewery, specializing in lager-style pilsner brewing. The brand has become deeply intertwined with Aruban identity, adopting the iconic Fofoti tree — a beloved landmark of the island — as a symbol on its label.
