Allgäuer Brauhaus AG is a traditional German brewery headquartered in Kempten, in the Allgäu district of Bavaria. The city of Kempten boasts a rich brewing history stretching back to the eighth century, when monks first began brewing in the region. Over the centuries, this heritage grew into what is now Allgäuer Brauhaus AG, a brewery with roots spanning nearly 600 years of continuous brewing tradition. Today, the brewery operates as part of the Radeberger Gruppe, Germany's largest brewing group. The brewery's portfolio reflects classic Bavarian brewing craftsmanship. Allgäuer Brauhaus is known for producing beers with a deep golden colour, malty aroma, and a refreshing, full-bodied character — qualities that are hallmarks of the Bavarian brewing tradition. Among its notable offerings is the Oberdorfer Weissbier, a classic Bavarian-style Hefeweizen that has attracted attention from homebrewers worldwide and even inspired a well-known clone recipe published in brewing media. As part of the Radeberger Gruppe alongside other distinguished brands such as Krušovice, Allgäuer Brauhaus continues to represent the regional brewing identity of the Allgäu area. Its beers remain a testament to centuries of Bavarian malt and hop tradition, combining heritage with consistent quality recognised both nationally and internationally.
