iKi Ginger is an amber-coloured specialty beer from Den Bosch, brewed with fresh Sencha tea leaves and ginger. The beer emerged from brewer Arjen Hemelaar's inspiration, gained during years spent in a Japanese monastery where he absorbed local food and drinking traditions. The flavour blends ginger aromatics with green tea, creating a warm, refreshing character. Ginger dominates the aroma while tea adds subtlety. This organic, top-fermented beer combines barley malt, wheat malt and restrained hop bitterness at 14 IBU. The taste profile was developed in collaboration with Jonnie Boer of three-Michelin-starred restaurant De Librije, making this a beer designed to complement food.
