Brigand is a strong golden ale from Kasteel Brouwerij Van Honsebrouck in Izegem, Belgium. This top-fermented beer takes its name from Flemish warriors of the Boerenkrijg and has been brewed since 1980. It is a full-bodied, robust blonde with 9% ABV that bottle-referments for added complexity. The beer draws from four malt varieties and Saaz hops for balanced bitterness and character. On the nose, expect banana and clove aromas, followed by a full-bodied palate with assertive bitterness and subtle maltiness. The finish is dry and fruity, lingering pleasantly and inviting another sip.
