Wild Raven is a Black IPA from Thornbridge Brewery in Bakewell, England, first brewed in 2009 and renamed in 2013. This robust beer combines five malt varieties with six hop selections to create a layered, complex character. Dark roasted malts provide the foundation, while assertive hopping brings citrus, grapefruit, tropical fruit and berry notes to the fore. The nose is fruity and floral, with hints of citrus zest. The palate balances toasted malt depth against bright hop bitterness, finishing dry with a smooth, oily texture typical of well-crafted hop-forward brews. Best enjoyed at 6–8°C alongside hearty meat dishes or rich stews.
