Engelszell Trappisten Weisse is a Weizen brewed by Stift Engelszell, Austria's Trappist monastery brewery in Engelhartszell an der Donau. This pale wheat beer combines wheat malt, pilsner malt and caramalt, bittered and flavored with hops from the neighboring Mühlviertel region. Classic Weizen character shines through: banana and clove notes greet the nose and palate. The taste is gently sweet with malty depth and a light, dry finish that keeps the beer refreshing despite its modest strength. Medium-bodied and approachable, it pairs well with salads, light poultry and fish.
