About
Guinness Draught is the iconic stout from St. James's Gate Brewery in Dublin, brewed since 1759. This dry stout is made with water sourced from Wicklow, malted barley, roasted barley, hops and yeast. The roasted barley delivers the beer's distinctive dark colour and depth. In the glass, a near-black beer reveals ruby tinges at the edges, topped with a creamy, dense head. The nose shows roasted malt, espresso and subtle chocolate notes. On the palate, a medium-sweet profile emerges with lightly roasted malt, coffee and a gently bitter, roasty finish. The texture is velvety and creamy thanks to nitrogen carbonation, giving this stout its characteristic smooth mouthfeel. At 4.2% alcohol, it is an approachable and well-balanced beer.
