St. Bernardus Watou Tripel

About

Watou Tripel is a traditional abbey beer brewed in Watou, Belgium's celebrated hop-growing region near Poperinge. Sint Bernardus crafts this classic tripel using a blend of barley, wheat and oat in a recipe rooted in abbey brewing tradition. The beer pours a bright golden blonde with a creamy, velvety texture. The nose reveals sweet malt and honey with delicate hints of banana and clove. On the palate, honeyed malt sweetness takes the lead, with subtle orange citrus emerging in the finish. Bitterness remains soft and understated, never dominating the malt-forward character. This is a remarkably balanced and approachable tripel—full-bodied yet genuinely drinkable.
