Schoppe Bräu XPA is Berlin's take on the American IPA. This top-fermented ale from Kreuzberg showcases five different hop varieties in a balanced, characterful beer. Braumeister Thorsten Schoppe and his team have been crafting beers with full flavour and intensity since 2001. The XPA opens with sweet malt and caramel notes, then hops take centre stage: sharp citrus, grapefruit and resinous pine dominate the palate. Fermented exotic fruit notes add complexity. At 7% ABV with a medium-full body, the beer drinks smooth and soft despite its assertive hop bitterness, finishing dry and clean.
