About
Rochefort Triple Extra marks the abbey's first new beer since the mid-twentieth century, brewed in 2020 to honour 'Forte Bière Blonde Extra', a similar golden ale produced at Rochefort between 1920 and 1920. This pale gold tripel combines the brewery's distinctive house yeast with malted barley, malted wheat, sugar, hops, orange peel and spices. The aroma reveals subtle citrus and hoppy notes with delicate floral undertones. On the palate, apple and pear emerge alongside clove and spice, supported by a dry, well-attenuated character that avoids excessive sweetness. The finish is clean and warming, with restrained bitterness. Medium body and soft carbonation make this a balanced strong ale best served between 6 and 9°C.
