About
Reuzenbieren's Black IPA bridges two bold traditions: the assertive hop character of a classic IPA layered over dark, roasted malts. At 10% ABV, this Dutch brewery crafts a complex interplay between roast-driven malt complexity and aggressive hop bitterness. The aroma reveals roasted malt and bread-like notes. On the palate, initial sweetness and full body give way to dominating hop bitterness and a dry finish. The medium body starts creamy but is quickly overtaken by hoppy assertiveness. The brewery suggests enjoying this beer within five years of bottling, though it will transform significantly over time. It earned a gold medal at the Dutch Beer Challenge in 2016.
