Pauw Zwaar is a traditionally brewed beer from Bierbrouwerij De Pauw in Ommen, Netherlands, produced at a centuries-old farmstead. This hazy, amber-caramel coloured ale is top-fermented, unfiltered and unpasteurised, with secondary fermentation in the bottle. At 8% ABV, it delivers a full-bodied, warming character. The flavour profile features notes of aniseed and liquorice, lending the beer a distinctive spiced character. The brewery employs time-honoured brewing methods using only a watch, thermometer and scales—techniques that echo centuries of Dutch beer-making tradition.
