La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch 33 is a matured expression of Bierbrouwerij De Koningshoeven's celebrated Trappist ale. Blended in January 2019, this batch combines three barrel types: 80% American bourbon oak, 15% new oak medium toast, and 5% new oak high toast. The result is a dark amber beer with a fine beige foam. The oak maturation deepens the rich, malty foundation of the original quadrupel. Aromas of ripe banana and dried fruit merge with subtle oak and vanilla notes. On the palate, the beer is smooth and lightly sweet, balancing the pronounced malt character with gentle wood tannins and spice.
