Mikkeller Citra Session IPA is an American-style IPA from Danish brewery Mikkeller, built entirely around a single hop variety: Citra. At just 4.5% ABV, this is a restrained take on the IPA style, prioritising flavour and aroma over strength. The nose leads with citrus—lemon peel and grapefruit—alongside hints of tropical fruit and grassy notes. On the palate, hop bitterness takes centre stage, supported by fruity character and a crisp edge. The finish is dry and bitter, true to a hop-forward IPA. This session IPA strikes a balance between refreshment and flavour intensity, offering the hop character of a full-strength IPA in a lighter, more sessionable package.
