Schierse Hippo is a wheat beer specially brewed for the island of Schiermonnikoog by microbrewery De Sater in Nazareth. This craft beer distinguishes itself through the use of sea buckthorn berries, which impart a characteristic light tartness. The result is a refined balance between light fruitiness, subtle sweet notes and a pronounced acidity. The beer presents fruity aromas of apricot and yellow apple, supported by a white, bready malty base. The palate shows light bitterness with a medium grainy character.
