Orkaankracht 16 BA is a heavy, barrel-aged barleywine from Brouwerij De Boei in Den Hoorn. This batch 2022 release is a surprising blend of the Orkaankracht 15.5 and 16.5, matured in oak casks previously used for Oloroso Sherry and the brewery's own Texelse Smoked Beer. The result is a complex, fruity beer at 16% ABV. Cask maturation adds depth and nuance, while the high alcohol content ensures warmth and full body. This is a beer for contemplation and slow sipping, not everyday drinking.
