About
Kompaan Vrijbuiter is a porter from The Hague, brewed by school friends Jeroen and Jasper Kompaan as one of their earliest recipes. The beer draws its character from six malt varieties and three hop types. Roasted malts deliver pleasant bitterness and a deep, ebony hue. The aroma balances roasted malt with fruity notes, tinged with fig and aniseed. On the palate, coffee and dark chocolate dominate, supported by a pronounced hoppy character that cuts through the malt sweetness. This substantial beer earned gold at the Barcelona Beer Festival and the Dutch Beer Challenge.
