Hertog Jan Grand Pilsener is the brewery's fuller expression of their classic pilsner tradition. Brewed with additional ingredients and extended lagering, this golden lager develops a more robust body and richer character than the standard version. The brewery draws soft spring water from the Eifel and Ardennes regions, combined with carefully selected malts and hops. The palate delivers moderate malty sweetness balanced by a pleasant, well-integrated bitterness, with subtle bread and herbal notes emerging throughout. The aroma emphasises malt and bread character with mild herbal undertones. A beer designed for savouring rather than quenching, with enough body and flavour development to reward careful attention, though its 5.7% strength can easily be overlooked.
