About
Flying Dog Raging Bitch is a Belgian-American IPA that emerged in 2009 as the brewery's 20th anniversary beer. This unconventional brew fuses the assertive hop character of an American IPA with the yeast complexity of Belgian wheat beers—an experimental pairing that became the brewery's most popular release. At 8.3% ABV, Raging Bitch drinks deceptively smooth despite its strength. The hop blend of Warrior, Columbus and Amarillo delivers pine and grapefruit notes, layered with spicy phenolics from the Belgian yeast strain. The finish is dry and bitter, with a medium body that carries the alcohol warmth without harshness. The beer's provocative name and label art sparked a federal trademark dispute, which Flying Dog won. Among seasoned drinkers, it's often simply ordered as "the ex-wife."
