About
Black Betty is Beavertown Brewery's Black IPA, a bold expression from the London-based brewery founded in 2011. This beer marries the richness of dark malts with the brightness of American hops, delivering IPA-level hopping and alcohol alongside a distinct toasty dark malt character. German Carafa malts provide dark colour and subtle roast notes without excessive burnt bitterness. The aroma is intensely hoppy with tropical fruit notes. On the palate, citrus and resinous hop bitterness play against dark chocolate and roasted malt, with liquorice undertones. Full-bodied and mouth-filling, this is a beer with serious character and an excellent balance of roasted grain, lighter chocolate, and zesty grapefruit-forward hops.
