Brewed 60 kilometres south of the Arctic Circle in Akureyri, Iceland, Einstök's Arctic Pale Ale draws on glacial meltwater flowing from Hlíðarfjall Mountain to create a distinctly Icelandic interpretation of the American pale ale. The brewery combines Cascade hops—giving it American character—with Northern Brewer and Bavarian varieties for balance. Pale ale malt, crystal malt and chocolate malt provide both brightness and warmth. On the nose, bright citrus and pine emerge alongside sweet floral and caramel notes. The palate is thick and malty with hoppy definition, while the finish turns dry and toasty. At 5.6% ABV, this is an approachable pale ale with enough hop bite and malt depth to pair well with roasted chicken, salads and white fish.
