Hop Head IPA⁷ is brewed by Craftwerk Brewing, Bitburger's research and development division, inspired by brewmaster Stefan's love of West Coast American IPAs. This Imperial IPA harnesses seven hop varieties—Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Hercules, Taurus, Magnum and Simcoe—to create an assertive, uncompromising beer. Golden in colour and surprisingly drinkable for its 8% strength, it avoids subtlety in favour of honest hop character. The nose presents grassy, spicy and citrus-forward aromatics. On the palate, fruity and bitter hop notes dominate, with a distinctive chilli-like edge balanced by lightly caramel malt. Melon, grapefruit and tropical fruit notes provide complexity. The finish is dry and lingering, true to West Coast IPA tradition.
