De Toekomst Barley Wine Grappa is an intense, full-bodied barleywine from Fijnaart at 11% ABV. Deep amber in colour, this malt-forward beer reveals layers of dried fruit, caramel and woody notes. The aroma opens with toasted grain, figs, dates and cherry complexity, while the palate echoes caramel sweetness, dried fruit and subtle wood influence throughout. This expression emerged from an ambitious single-batch project: one 2000-litre base brew yielded five distinct fruity variants. The grappa finish delivers warming alcohol and lingering depth—a beer designed for slow appreciation and contemplative sipping.
