Het Kolenfront is an ambitious Tripel from Brouwerij Kompel in Maasmechelen, a brewery dedicated since 2015 to honouring the mining heritage of Limburg in every glass. This 9.5% beer emerged from a single base recipe of 2,000 litres, yielding five distinct fruity variants—a unique approach to triple brewing. The nose reveals rich aromas of banana and lime, characteristic of a triple-hopped tripel. On the palate, fruity notes dominate alongside underlying caramel sweetness and malt, punctuated by hints of raisin. The finish is dry and elegant, befitting the higher alcohol strength.
