About
Bappir is the inaugural beer from Brouwerij IJssel, established by Erik Terlouw in Capelle aan den IJssel. Its name honours bappir, the bread ancient Sumerians brewed with five thousand years ago in Mesopotamia – a nod to beer's earliest traditions. This 7.4% ABV blonde ale draws on Cascade and Hallertau Mittelfreuh hops, with candi sugar and Fermentis Abbey Ale BE-256 yeast shaping its profile. The result is a fruity, approachable beer that captures the ambition of a craft brewery finding its voice.
