Hellegijt Isle of Arran is a Russian Imperial Stout from Brouwerij De Natte Gijt in Weert, aged on wooden beer barrels from the Scottish distillery Isle of Arran. This full-bodied, complex beer marries dark malt character with subtle wood influence, delivering a beer of considerable depth and personality. The nose reveals toasty and roasted notes, underpinned by gentle barrel wood. On the palate, dark chocolate and coffee dominate, complemented by the warming presence of 12% alcohol. The finish is dry and lingering, with a measured bitterness that anchors the composition without overwhelming the darker flavour layers.
