About
Straffe Hendrik Heritage is a special barrel-aged version of the renowned Straffe Hendrik Quadrupel from Brouwerij De Halve Maan in Bruges. This dark, complex beer matures for a minimum of one year in oak barrels of various origins, including cognac and Bordeaux casks. The extended wood aging imparts deep, rich flavours that harmonize beautifully with natural notes of dark fruit and warm spices. In the glass, a dark brown colour with a thin beige head. The nose reveals faint chocolate, dried fruit, wine, molasses and white pepper. The palate is smooth yet slightly acidic, with roasted notes, liquorice and caramel, followed by spices, tannins and woody red wine character. A fairly complex beer with a well-integrated finish.
