Vichtenaar is a traditional Flemish red ale from Brouwerij Verhaeghe, a family-owned brewery in Vichte, West Flanders, with roots reaching back to 1885. Brewed with deeply roasted malts, spicy hops and soft well water, it undergoes extended maturation in oak casks. The flavour is subtly acidic and complex, shaped by long fermentation. You'll find a luscious blend of sour fruit and caramel, with a richness that punches above its modest ABV. The aroma offers a promising tang, layered with fruity and malty character.
