Zwarte Bliksem from 100 Watt Brewery is a Black IPA that skillfully marries dark roasted character with bold hop presence. This Cascadian Dark Ale bridges the roasted, bitter notes of a stout with the crisp, hoppy freshness of an IPA. At 7.3% ABV with a subtle roasted malt profile, it delivers a full-bodied, dry drinking experience. The nose shows coffee and roasted grain, while the palate unfolds with piney hop bitterness, herbal notes and minimal citrus fruit. The finish is dry and assertively bitter, with lingering hop character. This beer won the World Beer Awards title for Best Black IPA of the World in 2021.
