Brauerei Heller in Bamberg is world-renowned for rauchbier, a smoked lager tradition spanning centuries and brewed to time-honoured recipes. This Helles Märzen Special Edition is an unfiltered release, produced annually for Rauchbier Day (23 July). The malt is kilned over an open beech wood fire, imparting the brewery's signature smoky character. The aroma reveals light smoke with caramel and malt undertones. On the palate, smoked notes meld with a rich, full malt backbone and faint residual sweetness. Medium-bodied with a lingering finish that emphasizes the smoke. Unfiltered, so the yeast remains in suspension, adding natural texture and complexity.
