About
Cambier from De Kroon op Leeuwarden is a robust blonde ale rooted in Leeuwarden's medieval past. Brewer Ulco de Jong named this 9% beer after the Liwwadder Beer Riot of 1487, when beer sparked conflict in the city. The beer draws its complexity from Belgian yeast, delivering a distinctive blend of spice and fruit. The nose is notably herbal with aniseed, citrus and grassy notes. On the palate, sweetness emerges first—honey and malt—before herbal and bitter elements take hold. The finish is dry and warming, with a lingering alcoholic presence that befits its strength.
