Sylvan Folly is an Imperial IPA from Sudden Death Brewing Company in Lübeck, Germany. This Northern German brewery was founded by ice hockey enthusiasts Olli and Ricky, whose passion for American hoppy beers from Boston shapes their brewing philosophy. This Double New England IPA at 7.7% ABV features an unconventional grain bill: 25% barley, 50% wheat, and 25% oats. The beer is double dry-hopped with Amarillo, BRU-1, and Galaxy hops, delivering a full fruity and hoppy character. It pours hazy to pale blonde with a fine foam head. The aroma is distinctly fruity and hoppy, while the palate continues these notes with a pleasant fruity foundation and hoppy finish.
