Blockchain is a hazy Imperial IPA brewed by Spyglass Brewing Company in Nashua, New Hampshire. The brewery team dry-hopped this beer heavily with Simcoe, Motueka and Citra, delivering a wave of tropical and citrus aromatics. On the palate, expect grapefruit, passionfruit and pineapple, rounded out by light stone fruit and a resinous pine edge. The body is notably lighter than typical for a DIPA, which works in its favour—the beer drinks refreshingly despite its 8% alcohol. Soft, almost creamy carbonation adds to the approachability. The interplay between hop bitterness and fruit character strikes a clean balance, making Blockchain a flavourful yet easy-drinking double IPA.
