Aupa Tovarisch Lagavulin Edition is a Russian Imperial Stout from Laugar Brewery in Gordexola, Basque Country. This craft brewery, established in 2014, has matured this Imperial Stout in Lagavulin whisky barrels, blending the full, dark malt character of the stout with the smoky, complex profile of Islay whisky. The beer presents a full body with smoky notes, chocolate and vanilla on the nose. The palate reveals dark stone fruits, coffee and a fair hop bitterness, finishing with a long, sticky aftertaste. At 12% ABV, it delivers warmth and depth without overwhelming the senses.
