Elegast Bonheur is a craft cider from Elegast Cidery, aged in Calvados barrels. The base recipe emerged from a single 2000-litre batch, yielding five distinct fruity variations. Apples are sourced from heritage orchards scattered along various rivers throughout the Netherlands. This cider showcases ripe apple character, enhanced by maturation in French Calvados barrels that impart wood and fruit nuances. At 7% ABV, it develops a fuller, boozy profile. It is a hybrid cider with fruit co-fermentation, conceptually similar to a Kriek lambic.
