About
Chamaven's Beekzichter Koyt revives a nearly forgotten Dutch beer style with historical roots. Kuit – or koyt – was a significant export in medieval Northern Europe, particularly to present-day Belgium, traditionally brewed with malted oats and regional herbs. This modern interpretation honours that heritage while standing on its own. Brewed by Chamaven, a friendship-founded brewery in Zutphen, the Beekzichter Koyt began as a single 2000-litre base batch, which was then split into five distinct fruity variants – a collaborative effort with Brouwersnös in Groenlo. At 5.7% ABV, it is an approachable, subtle beer that demonstrates genuine respect for a style that nearly vanished from Dutch brewing tradition.
