Broke Down Engine is a Triple New England IPA from Cervejaria Octopus, a Brazilian gypsy brewery celebrated for intense and creative beers. This commanding 10.5% ABV beer builds on a rich base with a velvety, full body. The hop bill is deliberately overwhelming: massive charges of Motueka and Galaxy form the backbone, complemented by Citra Incognito in the whirlpool for added complexity. The aroma explodes with tropical fruit, tutti-frutti and lychee, with a saturation that never relents. On the palate, those fruity notes follow through, supported by the full body and smooth texture. This is a beer that eschews subtlety in favour of pure hop intensity and fruity pleasure.
