Piraat Tripel Hop from Brouwerij Van Steenberge is an amber-hued tripel at 10.5% ABV that pairs the rich fruitiness of the classic Piraat with pronounced hop character. Brewed with three malt types—Pale Ale, Pilsener and Munich—and a blend of bitter and aromatic hops including Saaz, Aurora and Tetra, this beer gains extra complexity from bottle conditioning. The nose reveals full fruit forward notes: yellow fruit, citrus and grassy hop accents. On the palate, it is distinctly dry and hoppy, yet hop does not dominate—the full malty body and Belgian yeast esters provide balance between sweetness and bitterness. White pepper and spice notes emerge. The finish is clean and dry with a pleasant, lingering aftertaste.
