BraufactuM Progusta is a pioneering German IPA brewed since 2010 in Frankfurt am Main. It stands as the world's first German interpretation of the American IPA style and has earned international recognition, including a Country Winner award at the 2023 World Beer Awards. The beer blends American Citra hops with the traditional German Hallertauer Mittelfrüh variety, creating a distinctive balance of fruit-forward character and restrained bitterness. Hazy amber in appearance, Progusta offers aromas of apricot, orange and peach alongside subtle notes of elderflower. On the palate, malty toffee notes provide sweetness that complements the strong, oily hop bitterness. The finish is semi-dry and lingering, with a pleasant composition that bridges German brewing tradition and American hop-forward expression.
