De Vuurboetmeester 201 is an English barleywine from Bierbrouwerij De Magistraat, matured in Fernandez-GAO Palo Cortado sherry casks. This sherry-aged variant builds on their base recipe De Vuurboeter. From a single 2000-litre batch, five distinct fruity expressions emerged, each shaped by maturation in the sherry wood. The maltiness of the original barleywine remains at the core, enriched by the warmth and complexity imparted by the Palo Cortado sherry. At 12.5% ABV, this beer delivers a full, warming experience with layered flavours that honour both the brewing craft and the sherry tradition.
