Schwarzwald Zäpfle naturtrüb from Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus is an unfiltered kellerbier from the Black Forest, brewed according to historical recipes. This beer was specially created for the brewery's 225th anniversary and adheres to the strict German Reinheitsgebot tradition. Brewed with soft water from the region, regional malts and aroma hops from Tettnang and Hallertau, this kellerbier captures authentic, unpolished character. The naturally cloudy appearance reveals straw-yellow colour with brown yeast flakes. The flavour unfolds soft and gently spritzy, with pleasant balance between sweetness and hop bitterness. Honey and citrus notes alternate throughout, while light lactic notes in the middle add complexity. The finish remains clean and refreshing.
